Patron of our parish, which I imagine many of our countrymen do not know or knew that in fact our patron is St. Bonaventure, as we know the Franciscan friars came to evangelize these lands, leaving their roots here in our temple, this sample is the image of the Sr. of Araro and his great legacy as it was San Beunaventura.
Here is a biography of our Holy Patron. St. Buenaventura (1217-74), Cardinal of the Franciscan Order, Doctor of the Church. Feast: July 15. St. Bonaventure (1217-74), Cardinal of the Franciscan Order, Doctor of the Church. Feast: July 15. (Giovanni Fidanza, Bagnorea, now Italy, 1221-Lyon, France, 1274) Franciscan theologian entered the Franciscan Order and moved to Paris to complete the theological studies at the Sorbonne. Soon after, gave lessons to the Friars Minor. Soon acquired reputation and respect within the order, which used to defend the mendicant clergy in their conflict with the secular. In 1257 he was elected general of the Franciscans from this position and tried to calm the contrary currents that arose in the order. Living with the text of St. Francis of Assisi fixed tradition of the saint. He wrote several theological works which is reflected in its mysticism, most notably his masterpiece, Itinerarium mentis in Deum (1259). Named cardinal by Gregory X in the diocese of Albano and giving it the title of Doctor of the Church, died in Lyon the year 1274, and canonized in the year 1482 by Sixtus IV, Pope Sixtus V.

Thanks to a request from a Blog reader, we return a little of the history of Araro Michoacan , this time we will talk a little about the source of El Sr. de Araro, the following was taken from the Short Chronicle who performed the priest Don Ramon Lopez Lara. The sacred image of the "Sovereign Lord of Araro," as historians call it, is a historical jewel, which elevates the spirit. This is a Christ of natural proportions. Has the serene stillness of someone who has died saintly. Its color is the flesh macerated to blows. The blood flows through a torn back whipping, low waist, legs and feet bare. The arms were bruised by the tracks of the whip. But Christ gentle sleep the sleep of those who expected a new dawn.
Despite its size as an average person, is very lightweight: weighs no more than twelve pounds. Was made from a paste that the ancient calendar as "tatzingueni", the same as that used to make the gods to join in the campaigns of war. It is a mixture of cane corn sprayed with bulbs of a wild orchid known as tatziqui. Where to 1526 or 1527, the brothers arrive at Tzintzuntzan on the banks of Lake Patzcuaro, the capital of the kingdom tarazco, convince the natives converted to represent Christ and his virgin mother, with the same dough used to represent their deities. Make it as little delicate, since the molds were made of clay, if not hand-crafted, Bishop Don Vasco de Quiroga, who arrived in Michoacán in 1538, did come from Spain to Don Matías de la Cerda, towards the seventeenth century, had already been made between the school and these were the natural continuation of an art which spread throughout America and then come up from Spain. Luis Enrique Orozco Canon has included in his History of Christs cane, the version of the first successor of the family De la Cerda, Luis, was a man of good intentions and pious, who used to confess before starting his sculptures, This enabled it to print these images in warmth, beauty and harmony, but above all the strength to awaken faith, devotion and lofty feelings as to who may be contemplating the beautiful relic of the Lord of Araro.
